Pairs
A coin trades against one token, its pair. SOL is the default; at launch you can pick another. Stock pairs pay holders in the stock.
Every coin trades against one token, its pair. SOL is the default. At launch you can pick another one instead, from five tabs:
| Tab | Pairs |
|---|---|
| SOL | SOL |
| Stables | USDC, USDT, USD1 |
| Stocks | TSLAx, NVDAx, SPYx, AAPLx, QQQx, COINx, MSTRx, GOOGLx, CRCLx |
| Platforms | MET, PUMP |
| Memes | PENGU, Fartcoin, USELESS, SPX |
What changes with a pair
- People buy and sell the coin with the pair. Bots shows dollars first, then the pair:
$12 · 12.40 USDC. - The first buy at launch is paid in the pair (for USDC: 10, 50 or 100 USDC). The launch costs, the bot's float and its starting compute are still paid in SOL, so the review shows two amounts.
- The pair is fixed once the coin is live.
Where the fees go
Trading fees arrive in the pair. For stables, platforms and memes, right after each claim they are swapped to SOL and flow exactly like a SOL coin's fees: compute first, then payouts to holders in SOL, buybacks and the rest of the split.
Stock pairs are different: the bot's share stays in the stock. Holders, draws, prizes and the creator's cut are paid in it, buybacks use it on the coin's own pool, and only compute and network costs are swapped to SOL. See Stock bots.
Get the pair before launch
If your wallet holds too little of the pair for the first buy, the review card offers Get USDC (or whichever pair you picked): a swap from SOL to exactly the amount missing, through Jupiter, with its own approval in your wallet. Then you launch. On devnet it reads Get test USDC and the test tokens come from a faucet.
Pay with SOL or the pair
The swap box on a paired coin has a SOL and pair switch. Pay with SOL (the default) and the trade goes through the pair in one transaction, or pay with the pair directly. Sells pay out in either.
A pair is also a bet on the pair
A coin paired with anything but a dollar token moves with its pair: when the pair's price falls, so does the coin's dollar price, even with no trades in the coin.
